Kim Delaney is an American actor who is most well-known for playing the role of Detective Diane Russell in ABCs series NYPD Blue for which she received an Emmy Award. Kim Delaney has been renowned as the character Detective Diane Russell in ABC's series NYPD Blue. Also, she was a part of the drama show All My Children Philly, CSI: Miami, and Army Wives. Delaney has a father who was an executive from the United Auto Workers who was also a mother. Delaney has four older brothers. Although she was a child with a goal of becoming a journalist, it wasn't until high school when Delaney started modeling. Following her move from New York City and gaining experience as a commercial model in New York did she achieve the career as aspiring court reporters. Her first role as an actor came as an innocent teenager in the show All My Children. Since then Delaney has been in a variety of films television movies and dramas. As with her professional career but her personal life hasn't been easy or prosperous. The accomplished actress battled addiction to alcohol, and was married twice only to fall apart. In 2005 her custody was taken away from her.
